There are somewhere between 200 and 300 hundred species of Hibiscus that grow wild all over the world. There are actually two species that are native to Canada, Hibiscus moscheutos and Hibiscus laevis. This almost surely H. moscheutos or one of it cultivars.
@mplant14 is this plant from the wild or is it one that was obtained from a nursery? The is are pink varieties of wild H. moschuetos, but there are also many pink cultivars. H. moscheutos always dies to the ground in the winter even here in the Southern US, but it comes back from the roots in the spring are early summer.
