I took a closer look at that Frances Williams this morning. that variety is actually a little lightly thick and puckered anyway.
After comparing it to close up views of ones in the data base... It really doesn't look that different and their is no bleeding or real mottling.... on any of the veins. Just that one leave that looks like it has suffered a train wreck.
That damage could be caused by abrasion.
After intense comparison to the smooth looking one and comparing the smooth looking one to the database images I conclude the smooth one is not Frances Williams.
These 2 Hosta came from a Nursery not Walmart. It must be labeled wrong.
