So I called the Nursery I purchased Frances from and they let me bring it back. The woman told me she had never heard of the X virus so I told her about it. She says the unsightly leaves was weather damage from the spring hail storms we had back when the leaves were first emerging.
As a tolken of good will she let me pick out another plant of my choice, I even chose one that was more expensive and she happily gave it to me.
