Every night around 7:30 - 8:00, a really big spider, about 2 inches across from leg to leg make a rather large web in front of my outside light. It takes her about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete the web and the eating must be good since I saw she molted about 3 days ago. By morning, all traces of the web are gone. I've been watching her for about 2 weeks now. I'd like to get an ID on her but can't seem to find one on an image search of brown spiders with big abdomens.

The first picture is of the web .. it's terrible I know and you have to click on it to see the web structure but its the best I could do with a flash - she's down at 6 o'clock with her first meal of the night. The 2nd picture is the front of the spider and 3rd, the back side. Anyone know who she is?

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
