You are lucky: all schoolchildren have to wear uniforms here. During my prep. years, every private school had a different colour (St. Margaret's, British school for girls, wore red jacket and beret, light grey skirt and white blouse, Deutsche Schule (the one I attended) had burgundy jackets for boys and girls and us girls had to wear deeply pleaded light grey skirts / boys, trousers - public schools wore all blue uniforms). When I started high school, the government decided there should not be any distinction and all schoolchildren would have to wear blue, but private schools kept each their own blue 'models'.
Nobody from my very small family had traveled to the USA at that time, so I did not own GENUINE USA made jeans until I was app. 23 years old (gosh was I proud!) and was able to pay a lot of money for them! I still think they are great, but no longer wear them (a matter of size
)
