1948 -- and much to my mother's distress, insisted on wearing jeans when I was quite young... my parents had a son that died before I was born, so I think my dad must have won out on kind of letting me be a substitute for the son that he wanted -- I was definitely a tomboy, not helped by the fact that our neighborhood was filled with more boys than girls. He also encouraged my interest in math and science, for which I am eternally grateful. But girls wearing pants to school was strictly forbidden... and even when I went to college in 1968 it wasn't really accepted. I was in the marching band in high school and we girls thought we were quite daring because after our regular classes we would change to shorts in the restroom for band practice! LOL -- how times have changed!! And, like Ronnie, I have never lost my love of wearing jeans! (even if they don't look quite as good on me at this point...
