I never take any chances, but that's just me. I always take cuttings and start rooting in early to mid Spring--which for a lot of others on here is the equivalent of late Spring or even early Summer.

I've luckily never had a plumeria cutting fail to root. Though, in all honesty, in this zone it's kind of just a "set it and forget it" type of thing that time of year.
