I also read about it and found it interesting. They said that these genetically engineered mosquitos released will be all males and nonbiting. The offsprings from these GE moquitos will not live past the pupae stage. As a result there will be a reduction in the mosquitos population that carries the Zika virus. Sounds too wonderful that it seems too good to be true. Given the problems with GMO foods, I just don't trust man's handling and claims of its benefits. What if some of these offsprings mutate and survive past the pupae stage and become biting adult mosquitos that carry even deadlier diseases?? I don't think we should go about messing with nature.
