Realized I had lost ALL my pictures on the hard drive...not one hard copy of Dixie. Been looking at a flash/thumb ???drive for about a year now and never did get around to saving the pics that were on the computer 
Well my ex #1 had a hard drive from an old computer with XP on it so he put it in my tower...with dial-up I can't go beyond windows 7. He brought it back to me yesterday and got me hooked back up. For some reason stuff looks and acts a bit different 
and it's even slower then before the crash, but I'm BAAAAACK 
silver lining #1. Had to take Dixie to the vet on July 28...kinda emergency trip. She had stopped drinking, eating and playing with her BIG ball, plus there was a nasty smell from her mouth. I'm thinking blockage. Vet kept her overnight. Bloodwork was OK....nothing showed up on x-ray....BUT her tongue was burned down the middle of the top 
Chemical??? something hot??? Really don't know for sure, but my DD (who BTW is a vet tech in Ga.) suggested that as bloody hot as it's been here that perhaps the ball got so hot in the sun that it burned Dixie's tongue. Could be as she was kinda leary of it at first when she got to feeling better. She is now back to her usual rotten self BIG ball play and all

don't know what's wrong with her, but she is acting up AGAIN. Love my jeep, but it really is time to get a newer something IF I can figure out how. Time for that winning lottery ticket to bring me to silver lining #3

No ... Ginger ... Microsoft is gradually making XP nonfunctional. Forcing us to upgrade. They have been messing with the old versions of their software, too. We don't need to worry about security. Microsoft will hack our computers for us.
