Good afternoon, I'm having trouble with a pear tree. The tree has grown very tall over the years yet still would bear fruit. The last two seasons have provided nothing.
Can I cut the large branches back to a lower lever to encourage the tree or would the tree be better off ripping out and starting again?
The girth of the tree is 400mm circumference.
There used to be other pear trees close by however I have not had a good look round the block.
Cheers Tony
