Ann, I think that was a very good way to sum things up! As things turned out... they did bring their own, and also sampled (of their own volition) some of the garden veggies; the pole beans and tomatoes were just too tempting, I think Smiling . They live in Detroit and have room for just a couple of raised beds, so they were having fun looking at everything in my garden, and I was having fun because they were genuinely interested (not just in the "how many vegetables can I take home from here?" way) and were familiar with a lot of different heirloom tomatoes and so on. The weather was beautiful yesterday (if a little hotter than necessary) and we were all able to sit on our deck and enjoy the breeze. Thumbs up Thumbs up

Ann, Group hug to you, not only for having to deal with the celiac disease, but for giving the rest of us some insight on how to handle the situation of entertaining friends with special food needs!
Thank You!

*Blush* *Blush* Awwww, you're so welcome Sandy.
I am thrilled to hear it went so very well and a great time was had by all! I can just imagine them being wowed by your garden since they live in the "big city".
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
