I so agree Jeanie about interesting terrain and plantings. I'm constantly trying to find things that will "hold and not wash" when I start a new sloping area. I cut all of my edges with a 4" curved hand edger and then pop the grass out so I don't have hard edging (stone, etc.) and then I mulch to the edging. This works quite well after a good rain, and I'm learning not to cut new edges in dry clay because it kills my feet trying to stomp on it and the darn things tends to just go boingggggg The edge looks good until the rain gullies things out or the darn clover creeps in and messes it up! There must be an easier way to keep those edges looking nice - my mantis tiller just cuts the straight edge and doesn't pop the grass out and the weed wacker and I have issues most of the time - I want one thing and it does another
