This one's a different case because it isn't a "parent" plant. It's just the generic entry, and the information added to a generic entry is not automatically copied to all of the "child" plants, so I can't accomplish this simply by adding an extra common name. The plant data for every entry in a genus can be edited to add or delete data in one fell swoop, but there's no tool for editing the name of every entry at once. It would be a special programming task. You can ask
@dave to do this, or you can treat it as a rainy-day chore and add the common names to each entry one by one.
