41) PARDON ME x BLACK PLUSH 15-Jul-15 30-Aug-15 02-Sep-15 10 D $3
This was an attempt to create a shorter and/or smaller spider daylily. Pardon Me is registered as nocturnal. Black Plush often poly's in my yard, something I hope would be passed down. Both of these daylilies have been described previously, so please refer to previous descriptions (or the database) for more details.

42) PARDON ME x JIM'S PICK 22-Jul-15 13-Sep-15 20-Sep-15 7 D $3
'It wouldn't hurt to have a little red polychrome with pretty fragrance in my yard...' No doubt that's what I was thinking when I made this cross. Jim's Pick is possibly the most fragrant daylily I have...or atleast it's in the top fragrant. It's a beautiful poly-chrome color that busts through my loosely-held 'no pastels' rule because I love it so much. The color is hard to describe. Now pair it with Pardon Me, which is also fragrant, and there has to be some beautiful, deeply-fragrant seedlings to arise from this one.

43) PARDON ME x SAINT ELMO'S FIRE 08-Jul-15 30-Aug-15 02-Sep-15 14 D $4
This one is likely to result in some smaller spiders, possibly with midribs. Saint Elmo's Fire is a bud-builder, so that could get passed on, too, in theory. Lots of possibilities with this mix except for the color...I'm pretty sure all of the seedlings on this one are going to be red. Rolling my eyes.

44) PARDON ME x STARMAN'S QUEST 12-Jul-15 30-Aug-15 02-Sep-15 18 D $5
See previous descriptions for Pardon Me. As for Starman's Quest, I've seen pictures from other hybridizers who use Starman's Quest and get some nice 'patterns' on their seedlings as a result. (Not to be confused with the subtle 'patterns' found in newer, eyed daylilies.) Starman's Quest is also highly variable, the base color appearing mauve some days, medium purple other days, and sometimes fairly close to pink. I would expect anywhere from medium-pink to red-purple seedlings on this, anywhere from small to medium-large blooms, anywhere from short to medium-tall scapes, and I would imagine most would pick up on Starman's Quest's midribs and/or eye, but it's impossible to say for certain.

45) PENNY'S WORTH x AMERICAN REVOLUTION 02-Aug-15 02-Nov-15 04-Nov-15 5 D $2
I thought it would be neat if I got some orange seedlings out of this cross. I truly don't know what to expect from the black-red American Revolution and the light-to-medium-yellow of Penny's Worth. Penny's Worth has dark green, grass-like foliage, so if you like dark green foliage, this might be a nice cross. Both of these are older varieties, but I can't say for certain whether or not they are rust-resistant, only that I've gotten the impression from previous comments that older varieties may be more rust resistant than many of the newer varieties of daylilies. (Please don't hold me to that, though, as I have no certainty of the matter, myself.) Penny's Worth is a tiny bloom that rests just above the foliage, but American Revolution is a much bigger bloom that stands at a medium height, so there is some variability in the genetics on this cross. Curiosity really gets at me with this one, but I'll just hope that someday, whomever purchases these seeds will share photos of the resulting seedlings.

46) PENNY'S WORTH x STARMAN'S QUEST 15-Aug-15 07-Oct-15 - - 5 D $2
LOTS of possibilities with this cross! Will the seedlings be yellow, peach, orange, brown, purple, pink...? Will they be small blooms or large blooms? Tall or short? It's hard to say, there are so many possibilities with this cross and I imagine it will be lots of fun watching these seedlings develop their blooms. Will they resemble each other, or will the siblings reflect the wide range of genetics in this cross? Fun stuff!

47) Penny's Worth x Unknown 15-Aug-15 22-Oct-15 04-Nov-15 21 D $6
If you like surprises, this one might be worth trying! Lots of seeds here with lots of possibilities! Unfortunately, Penny's Worth's scapes browned (darkened) very quickly during the harvesting season and so I didn't see any permanent marker label on it (if there was one) to suggest who the pollen parent might be. If it had a wire tag at one point, it must have fallen off. Or maybe a bee pollinated this one? If you purchase this one, I could go into my records and see which pollen parents I used on Penny's Worth and try to give you suggestions on what the pollen parent could possibly be. If you prefer the surprise of it all, though, I won't spoil it. Rolling my eyes. (If you post pictures of the blooms in the next couple of years, I could try to make a guess at the parents if you want.)

48) ROYAL FROSTING x OLALLIE KEITH 17-Aug-15 13-Oct-15 25-Oct-15 6 D $3
WHY I don't have a better picture of Royal Frosting, I have no idea. The picture truly doesn't do this plant justice in the least. Royal Frosting is a superb white, and is exactly what a white, traditionally-shaped daylily should be. It sparkles, it is very white (not the peachy-white that the picture shows), it has excellent bud count and branching with a nice, long show of buds over the season. It is also very fragrant and has excellent petal substance. Olallie Keith is another, highly fragrant variety with beautiful purple coloring to it. Olallie Keith's petals have average substance, so I was hoping that Royal Frosting would contribute greater substance to the offspring. Olallie Keith also has a pretty midrib that I would expect could only be a crisp white in the offspring, but only growing them out would tell. I mentioned that Royal Frosting was sparkly (diamond-dusted) and had a lot of buds and Olallie Keith also seems to share these traits. From this pairing, I would expect seedlings with strong scapes, great petal substance, nice bud- and branch-count, strong fragrance, and blooms that may or may not have midribs, may or may not have pink petals, and should have diamond dusting.

50) RUBY SPIDER x "BECKY'S CURLS" (GARDEN NAME) - SEEDLING 1 24-Jul-15 08-Sep-15 12-Sep-15 4 T $5
I made this cross a LOT last year because I was very excited to see seedlings from this. Apparently, these two flowers really like each other because most of those seed pods took! Some of those resulting seeds are already seedlings in my yard right now, but I can only plant just so many, so these are some of the surplus, offered for you to enjoy. Both of these have previously been described, so please refer to previous descriptions. In short, though, I expect big, red, velvety, cheery blooms on tall scapes from these two parents. And I would expect some sort of UFO, but since Ruby Spider is Spatulate and the two possible pollen parents are crispate and crispate-curly, it's hard to say which UFO is likely to represent itself most in the seedlings!

51) RUBY SPIDER x FUNNY VALENTINE 16-Jul-15 10-Sep-15 16-Sep-15 7 T $6
This cross will hopefully combine the cheery, LARGE blooms of Ruby Spider (maybe even capturing its unusual, spatulate form) with the heavy petal substance, dark green foliage, and rich red coloring of Funny Valentine in some way. Funny Valentine is shorter than Ruby Spider, but still stands above the foliage. (Funny Valentine has so much red color, it has been known to 'bleed' on me when I'm reaching around its day-old petals, but I don't care so much because it holds its red so well throughout the day and I hope that color-fastness holds true in its offspring. I don't recall Ruby Spider ever bleeding on me, but it is definitely a color-fast daylily in my garden, too.)

52) RUBY SPIDER x MATCHLESS FIRE 19-Jul-15 15-Sep-15 20-Sep-15 5 T $5
This is an exciting combination! I've described and gushed about both of these parents previously, so please read earlier descriptions. In short, expect vibrant red or red-orange seedlings from this pairing!

53) RUBY SPIDER x SYMPHONY OF FIRE 06-Jul-15 07-Sep-15 12-Sep-15 8 T $6 SOLD
Since this one is already sold by the time I'm posting this, I'm not going to go into too much detail, but these are some GREAT parents. I don't know why Symphony of Fire didn't stand out to me last year, but this year (2016), I found myself constantly eager to go out and gaze upon it. BEAUTIFUL!

54) RUBY SPIDER x TUSCAWILLA TIGRESS 22-Jul-15 16-Sep-15 20-Sep-15 3 T $4
This cross should be really interesting. These two parents really liked each other because I ended up with quite a few seed pods (although not a large number of seeds, unfortunately) from these. Tuscawilla Tigress has a shape that I don't care for all that much, but I love Ruby Spider's shape, so I was hoping the seedlings would get RS's shape moreso than Tusc. Tigress's. What Tuscawilla Tigress has to contribute, however, is the electric orange color and lighter midribs, as well as noctorunal genes (if you like that), and fragrance. (I should note that her frangrance is, at times, very detectable, and other times I don't notice it...which isn't to say it isn't there, but rather that it's possible that it's not there, not fragrant, on certain days. Overall, though, she's usually quite fragrant.)

57) SAINT ELMO'S FIRE x AMERICAN REVOLUTION 18-Jul-15 01-Sep-15 05-Sep-15 14 D $4 SOLD
I'm pretty sure this combination, when I made it, was to get a dark-red version of Saint Elmo's Fire. Since this pack is already sold at the time of this post, I won't elaborate further.

x
58) SAINT ELMO'S FIRE x EARLY AND OFTEN 29-Jul-15 16-Sep-15 20-Sep-15 9 D $3
I'm not sure what I was going for here, to be honest. Maybe a peachy-colored, smaller spider with a white midrib? I'm not into pastels all that much, but what Early and Often has going for it is that it is pretty true to its name: it is one of the first bloomers in my garden at the beginning of the season and it reblooms here in the north. Saint Elmo's Fire is a bud-builder, so if the seedlings don't have reblooming, maybe they will be bud-builders? Or maybe they'll be reblooming bud-builders? Who knows?

x
59) SAINT ELMO'S FIRE x JIM'S PICK 21-Jul-15 07-Sep-15 12-Sep-15 24 D $6
In a perfect world, this cross would produce seedlings that are highly-fragrant (like Jim's Pick), large (like both parents), red poly-chrome bloom, possibly with clear-white midrib (like SEF), on bud-building scapes (like SEF), with thicker scapes (like Jim's Pick). With 24 seeds, it's certainly a possibility!...
