You are talking Fire ants. They draw to moisture actually, can be found in mounds 80' below the surface. Will climb into your walls in floods. Boiling water is used when you have other things like bees you don't wish to kill. Still, it's a NEVER ENDING FIGHT. Especially when your neighbor broadcasts his yard with Over and Out and his ants pack up and move to your place. Welcome!
