I'm afraid I don't have any special 'ability' as far as growing DAs is concerned. As I said before, I'm generous with food and try to deadhead asap. I don't think it's the climate because we grow a few DAs in France and they seem happy there too, although they need even more food because of the rubbishy soil we have in France (very sandy).
