Oh wow, I'm sorry to hear that you're having to deal with it, too. And I have a number of low-quantity seed pods, too, but I think most of my seed pods just decided to shrivel up in the drought and not bother with any seeds. I have a number of pods that created a lot of seeds, though (particularly on my Olallie Keith Stone's Sunset daylily--that thing churns out seeds like nobody's business!) It makes some sense, though, that the squishy seeds I'm finding are due to the drought because last year I got a few pods on that same plant and the seeds were just fine. So far, though, it is only that particular daylily (Lights of Detroit) having an issue, which is odd. I might have had one or two hollow seeds out of the hundred or two hundred seeds I've pulled off of other plants this year, but that's nothing by comparison. Maybe Lights of Detroit is in a particularly bad spot? (There are others with it, though.) Or maybe its particularly susceptible to drought? Hmm...

I'm glad to hear you're getting some seeds going, I'm looking forward to seeing what you harvest! I have to ask,t hough...what is geum? Confused Or was that a typo?

I wish I could say that I'm harvesting a bunch of seeds, but the only thing I'm harvesting lately is WEEDS! Ugh. With luck, though, next year will be my year for seeds. Instead, I've here are some of the things I've been planting out for fall harvest:
Beans (most from @LittleCheryl ): Blue Lake Bush, Nina Sisco's Bird Egg, D'Aquadulce Fava (thanks @bxncbx !), dragon tongue(?) Painted Pony
Carrots: Solar Yellow, Atomic Red, Scarlet Nantes, Dragon, and 1-2 others(?)
Spinach: Bloomsdale Long-Standing
Radishes: German Giant, Watermelon, Daikon, Rat-Tail, etc... (I hope my husband is super hungry for radishes in the upcoming months, I have TONS of radish seeds I'm planting over the next several weeks. ...It's a shame they don't freeze well.)
Rutabaga - Heleanor
Lettuce/Lettuce Types - Verde de Taglio, Rainbow Chard, 'Green' Bok Choy, (possibly 'Toy Choy' and 'Baby Bok Choy', too?)
Onion/Leeks: Sweet Spanish White onion , American Flag Leek (or was it "Verde"?...I have to double-check), Cabernet onion, etc.
Cauliflower - Snowball Self-Blanching
Broccoli - Purple Peacock

...there are other things I planted, too, but those are just the varieties I remember at the moment. I made the decision to start my daylily seeds indoors instead of planting them out this month, so that afforded me 2-3 extra garden beds of space to plant for the fall. I'm sort of experimenting--and taking a risk--to see what I can get away with planting at this time of the season.
