New to my garden last Fall, Heavenly Orange Blaze was one of my favorites from this season. It bloomed for weeks on tall, strong scapes. It does well in the South, despite the fact that it's a dormant. The color is bright and glowing. A real show stopper! The foliage is a little on the yellow side (as opposed to some daylilies that have more of a blue-green foliage color). Bud count was low this year, about 10 buds, 2 way branching, but this was a very dry year for us, and all the daylilies had low bud counts. I'm hoping it improves as it gets more established. (Registered 16-20 buds, 4 way branching.) I have this planted in the front yard, so the neighbors can enjoy it too.
