I had (6) Potted Clematis in the front of my house, all in Direct Sunlight for hours each day .......
Once the Summer came, forget it, they scorched and burned and all shriveled up and stopped
blooming. I finally had to move them to the back of the house in shade/semi-shade. Some have
recovered, 2 had to be cut down to the soil level. I don't really think Clematis are meant to handle
that level of Direct sunlight. Now I know for next year to keep them off the front patio.
