Tim, when I was researching viruses associated with plumeria, one of the PhD plant geneticists at the U. of Hawaii (his speciality is plumeria) told me that the genes that control plumeria colors are very weak compared to most plants. Thus, almost anything can cause a color-shift. It is almost like growing from seed. You'll never know what color you will get. It seems to me that the reds are not in this group of color-variation though. Only my whites, yellows, pinks, and rainbows seem to go through color-shift.
