I like monarda (bee balm) with daylilies, especially the purple or deep pink cultivars. I also like echinacea and lady's mantle, as well as some of the astilbes, especially the Vision series. This year I tried rudbeckia hirta along with El Bandito and there was some overlap, although the rudbeckia is still blooming and the daylily is finished.
