My first thought was maybe Night Blooming Jasmine (Cestrum nocturnum) I have that one and it does smell wonderful at night. My shrub has a sprawling habit and when we first moved here I confused my Jasmine with Snowberry (Chiococca alba) It's similar looking to the C. nocturnum and the blooms are very fragrant too.
