Queen Anne's lace is a good companion plant in place of carrots for a few types of vegetables, according to a companion planting guide I was referencing (might have been the Wikipedia one?). There was one, in particular, that if you couldn't let your carrots go to flower, they recommended using Queen Anne's Lace, instead, but it doesn't help much if I can't remember which one it was, does it? I think it might have been beans, but I'll try to remember to research it and write it here if I find it.
