Lisa--
I have my doubts that one of the two remaining Maya cuttings is going to make it.
It is not tight in the soil (bad sign). I am afraid it is slowly rotting--like the rest of them.
The remaining one is OK. I can tell. You and Chantelle can "duke it out"...Just LMK the result.
Hopefully, I will be able to take some woody stem-cuttings in October,
just before I bring them into my Shop, and root one for you. Best time to do this.
Then i will be able to give you the rooted cutting at the Seed swap. Hope it makes it.
So sorry--but they just were not ready to be cut back and rooted.
Nature in charge here...
Judy (coleup)--I think I can manage to dig you up one of the GBL's.
But--you have to promise to plant them in a bed asap. I hate to see this die off.
There is NOT just one stem--but a cluster of stems that grew out from one plant.
Looking at it--there is NO way I will separate hem. Lots of new growth coming too from the roots.
CHANTELLE--David has this plant as well in his woody garden. maybe you can ask him to share a small clump? Since I have never grown this massive plant--I am not familiar with what to do.
David--Question....IF I were to split up the massive roots of this Lobelia--will it grow?
They are pretty tight as one root mass.
Please don't blame me for these shortcommings--This is a live-and-learn for me too..
blame the rains and the inhumanly hot weather.
Thank you for understanding...
****All Ric Rac cuttings and X-Mas CC cuttings got potted up today.
Gonna keep them indoors to root. Don't trust this crazy weather.... Gita
