I was thinking of planting the spring bulbs before the ground begins to freeze. I have read that it should be done by mid October to get the best results. It is good to get rid of any diseased foliage from infected plants because if they are left alone they could harbour a new outbreak next year. Rake up and compost tree leaves.Don’t rake freshly fallen leaves onto the gardens because they may smother the young plants. It is best to let them compost first. Stake young and newly planted trees.Staking will help prevent damage from high winds Mulch the garden beds to retain moisture.
