I found this Agapanthus thread... I need some help. My Agapanthus 'Peter Pan' has failed to bloom this year. Sad I bought it last summer in a one-gallon pot already in bloom and it was awesome, so I bought another. Both have failed to bloom this year.
I cannot complain about the growth, it has doubled in width and depth. The soil is excellent and not overly dry or moist. The plant has never appeared stressed. It died down to almost nothing over our relatively mild PNW winter but grew back in spring. The sun exposure is about a half day of sun, Shasta Daisies grow and bloom in the same area. I read something about they need to be root-bound? Could that be a problem cuz I really tried to give it a nice planting hole with some soybean meal fertilizer at planting time. And some calcium nitrate in Spring... maybe too much Nitrogen?
