This is the other side of the same strip garden I posted photos of previously, currently it's on page 3. This was also taken today, a month later-- so now some of it is in bloom. Hurray! Last year it was nothing more than a strip of grass. Now it contains bumble bees, native bees, beneficial wasps, butterflies, beetles, caterpillars, preying mantids and assorted creatures.
"My work is loving the world. Here the sunflowers, there the hummingbird — equal seekers of sweetness. Here the clam deep in the speckled sand. Are my boots old? Is my coat torn? Am I no longer young, and still not half-perfect? Let me keep my mind on what matters, which is my work which is mostly standing still and learning to be astonished." — Mary Oliver, from Messenger
