Well, Jacquie, the "mother" plant will be the one you purchased. Pups will grow alongside that mother plant, growing from her base. Generally speaking, when the mother plant blooms, pups will begin to grow. The mother plant will begin to die as soon as she has bloomed, but it may take months or even well over a year before that mother plant withers.
