Christmas lights are my go to. But NOT the LED style. They have to be old fashioned lights. They are getting harder and harder to find. Check out the Dollar Stores for those. While you may lose some leaves in a hard freeze, at least your roots are still alive.

I did an Ideas page using a box and mulch. Christmas lights add more heat to those weaker tropical plants. Start looking for your supplies right now.
