If the cut end looks callused enough, you can plant it in your porous media. Just don't water yet, it has to grow roots. Then put in warm shady side to acclimate.

Sometimes succulents goes into a last burst of growth when seasons change in Fall. Then they rest again in winter, so be very careful in watering.
In my area, we are still getting very warm temps, so it varies by location how succulents adapt.
