OK, a short story off to the side a bit. The area I live in there are a lot of fields of green beans, sweet corn, peas, cabbage and other vegetables. Green Giant and other mega firms. Once there grew peas right next to my house on a 40 acre patch. Day came for harvest. Those big companies are after volume = profit so they tend to pick them later than you or I would but this particular field was set aside for better quality peas = they picked them when they should. Big machines show up. They move down the field picking the pea pods, shelling the peas, spitting the "waste" out the back, throwing the peas into a large bin. I walked out into the field with a white 5 gal. bucket and, of course, as I approached one of the machines it stopped. Not a word exchanged. Driver knew what I was after. Dipped my bucket in the back and handed it to me. I smiled. 5 gal of fresh peas. Gene
