Fruits are important. Just find the carb cost and factor that into your daily carb allowance Don't cross any fruits off ..choose small sizes of the fruit you like

Cantelope gives you big bang for the sugar cost ( like a 1/3 of the melon )

Fiber is important because diabetics have heart disease risk and it helps round up cholesterol

if you invest in an Atkins diet book..it will have PAGES of fruits and veggies and their glycemic index.. You can stick to foods on the low glycemic index. You can find this info on the net too. Print it and take to the store.
