Linda I agree I agree with you: a tomato must taste like a tomato, I like the taste of a tomato but I like it to have that rich taste and a bit acid tasting. I also agree that the same verity of tomatoes grown in different soils can have a different flavor / taste. It most likely has something to do with the mineral content in the soil.

I know a fellow who grows hydroponic tomatoes and they are really pretty, but they are like kissing your sister through a screen door...just not much to it.
