I'll be doing what I do every winter - cheating & basking in locational denial! I live in a temperate place but will have a house full of tropical plants. It started with a few house plants & buying a few annuals a little soon some of those first springs, then having to bring them inside for a night to avoid frost... next thing I know, it's almost 3 decades later & IDK what is a house plant & what's a "saved perennial-sold-as-annual-because-it's-not-hardy-here" anymore.
On nice days, I'll take (way too many, according to some...) pots back outside for a drink, then back in before it gets dark again. I'll drop at least one at some point during winter, and as usual, it will be *after* watering, not when the soil is dry on the way out. A lot of time will be spent wishing windows were bigger, tweaking pot placements by half-centimeters.
Then I'll start thinking about veggies way too late because I'm originally from OH & things need to start much earlier where I am now. I'll be complaining about how cold it is while simultaneously "whew'ing" with relief that they're not the much colder temps that I left behind. I won't have room to start seeds inside because the existing pots are using all available near-a-window space. BUT do have a new GH this year that I'm hoping will, after housing the overflow of plants that won't fit inside, hold some seed trays...
I'll take my plants out a little too soon & forget where the shadows don't reach that early in the year & that some trees don't have leaves yet and there will be some sunburn.
You can count on it! LOL! ;)
