Welcome! Are you sure the culprit for the Leachi is squirrels? They're supposed to be mainly active during the day rather than at night. Ways to keep them off may depend on what vegetables you are trying to protect. Chicken wire over arcs of piping (like a hoop house) would probably work. Also floating row covers like Remay where you don't need to let pollinators in. Also squirrels don't like blood meal fertilizer but it needs to be re-applied after rain and you might not like using that with vegetables that are eaten uncooked. I accidentally found out that the squirrels around here don't like composted manure because they left the spring bulbs alone that were mulched with it. That's another thing you may or may not want to use in a veggie garden also.
