Well, I get to feel like an idiot and a city slicker today. My baby Hunter started smelling funny last Friday; I had visions of him having ingested something poisonous (DH noticed him vomiting Friday morning) or having developed some sort of metabolic disorder...I can imagine all kinds of horrible things. So I talked to the vet on Monday and since he seemed ok otherwise, they said I could bring him in this morning just in case. Heh, vet took one sniff and said "Your dog has been skunked." Huh? *Blush* The odor did not smell in the least the way "dead skunk in the road" or "passing skunk marking territory" or "skunk I just shot with my .410." I've never had a pet tangle with a skunk and the odor is very different. Bless their hearts, no one snickered at me and they didn't charge me for an office visit either. Angel We don't think he actually got sprayed, otherwise his own personal guard dog, our Lula, would have gotten it too--you wouldn't believe how fast she can move if she thinks he's in danger. He probably just rubbed on something the skunk had sprayed. Whew, nasty odor, but it's slowly going away. Smiling
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.
