We unspotted the peonies we put in the ground last fall. 15 in all. Five rotted and I took pictures to send to Adelman's to see if she would replace them. The others, planted identically in the same bed, came out phenomenally well. Tons of feeder roots just filling the pots. We didn't disturb them enough to see the growth on the storage roots but assume an equivalent growth there. They are now out in the main beds in regular soil. I think I will put some compost and Azomite (maybe a cup) around away from the crowns just to give them a little extra boost. We are really excited to see next spring if our 'rearranging' of many other peonies to give them more lebensraum will pay off. Some were so buried among huge plants all around they were doing poorly. I was so happy that Will (one of the horticulturists at the garden was open to my suggestions, indeed really wanted to get it done. So since part of it was my idea I have an additional interest in seeing great growth and (hopefully) blooms next spring. Crossing Fingers!
