Yesterday morning I broke out the garden hose and gave the plants a drink (it has been a fairly dry growing season). When I got to the north fence line, I noticed a reddish brown wasp on the Autumn Fire Sedum. I zipped into the house, grabbed the camera with the macro lens an got back just in time to get a few images before the wasp flew the coup.
Since I already had the camera in hand, I grabbed a few honey bee shots.
A butterfly flittered by, but never lingered long enough to pose for even one shot.
Went back out in the afternoon, took some more bee shots.
Another wasp played hide and seek for a bit, giving me just one shot before disappearing.
One more bee shot (burrowing into the sedum like a gopher?).
Then, the reddish brown wasp made a cameo appearance.
