Lin is right on with the ID. As for care, is this where it has always been or did you recently move it to this spot? Have you recently reported it? Do you check the soil before watering to see how wet/dry it is?

Don't know the direction of the windows, but the spot looks like a nice location for it. If you recently repotted, you might notice a little dieback, but it should bounce back fairly quickly. Watering (or lack of) is usually a big culprit of houseplant issues. Check the soil before you water - use a little stick (good) or your finger (better) and dig down just an inch or two. If the solid is still damp, hold off water for a few days and check again by digging in a different spot. This will help keep you from overwatering as well as underwatering. Could also be a fertilizer issue. Have you fertilized it lately?
