Hi Anietafinch! Welcome! what zone or location are you in? You did not really say what kind of bulbs and what critters. In general daffodils and hyacinth are not eaten by critters. But fresh digging in the garden makes squirrels and other critters want to dig there too! If that is a problem just lay chicken wire over the plantings. Later as it gets colder and the ground compacts you can just pick up the wire. Many blessings for a joyful October!
