Nope, Punakea is one I've had for years that I got when a local grower was closing his greenhouse. Or, I should say his son was, as the old fellow had a fall and ended up in a nursing home. I called it the "orchid orphanage" for a long time because I'd go over there (it was just along the way from me) and "adopt" 20 orchids at a time, about $3 each.

Most of them have gone the way of the dodo, due to my inexperience but a few have become some of my champions like Punakea, Little Lulu and Renate, and I think at least one of the Yellow Birds came from there as well.
