Poor Glen. After all the trouble raising seedlings. Great your friends are getting wire asap. Glad you don't have scrub turkeys worrying them Glen. They love mulch, loose soil, or even bare soil that they can scratch up for their mounds. They knock over pots and rake the contents away. They were a nightmare where I lived in Tweed. There are some here but fortunately they confine their scratching to the gully along the edge of my place. But I will have to protect my fill patch b4 they discover it. There will be room for daylilies until the 'boo gets bigger. Today I found that a cute black faced wallaby has chewed down to a 2" stubb my KATHY ROOD, one of my free story prize plants. I think it had buds on it. So it has to come closer to the house and risk rust infection.

First flower of season on KELLY'S GIRL. It was a bonus plant and I like it more each season. Behind and below it is a clump of MARCIA FAY that is powered up with buds. Can't recall if it is a rebloomer. But its short foliage produces a good show of large blooms. Pics are a lot better as it was late afternoon. It was too hot for me outside today except to water poor plants.
