Wow, surprised that none of us had anything to say about our eggplants since August 1st!!

Mine were awesome this season, I was very pleased. We had a hot summer and during that heat I watered everyday. The eggplants seemed to love it.

My plants went in a section of garden that used to be a perennial flower bed but I moved out the flowers and re located them. At first I thought maybe plant tomatoes there but that would have looked horrible. The eggplants turned out to be the perfect choice. They are pretty enough that you don't mind looking at them there near the back door.

Cool night now so I am simply waiting for the few not yet ready to pick fruits to get bigger. Then I will pick and pull the plants.

I have thought I might start my own plants from seed next season. I like so many that I see seeds for but can't buy plants. But I simply can't start everything and need to focus on my tomatoes and peppers. I guess I will only have the common eggplants next season that I find for sale in the spring.
