On Saturday, for the first time in months, I was able to get in an afternoon work session in addition to the morning hour!
Of course, what I was doing wasn't so happy--discovered that the middle Rose of Sharon tree was completely rotted at the base. I was able to pull it out with one hand. The roots were a different story , but even those mostly popped out easily. After it was out, I discovered that I will definitely need to put something tall in the space as the tree being gone from that section has created a direct line of exposure to traffic on the six-lane. Thinking a structure for Clematis or a Zepherine Drouhin climbing rose, but will figure it out later.
In the meantime, I put an Anouk Lavender in that space and a Caryopteris seedling diagonally across from it. This image was taken from the neighbor's driveway looking in to my yard.
Also replanted a NOID Peony that was removed for the rehab workers. Moved it out some. Planted two pink Gerberas that I dug up from the memory bed and potted a few months ago. Also planted a Dragon's Orb Daylily fan that I separated from the clump when getting a couple of fans to ship a few weeks back. The Royal Maroon MDB Iris was already there in a holding pattern and decided to leave it. Had some other things to do yesterday and today, so didn't get out in the yard, but hope to get some more time in tomorrow afternoon.
