Comfrey blooming in my yard...the bees like it. I use it for medicinal purposes and teas. It's great for healing wounds when made into a poultice. The roots and leaves contain the valuable cell-proliferant allantoin. The indigenous people called it Bone-knit. Great plant to have in the garden, just be sure to get the Bocking-14 cultivar as the other cultivars are very invasive. The Bocking-14 and Bocking - 4 cultivar is propagated by roots, if you till the area it is planted in it will spread...I have had this growing in corners of my yard for years now and it is contained in clumps. It makes a great mulch for chop and drop and can be cut several times a year. I also use it to make a Comfrey tea for use as a fertilizer.
