I saw a research paper where they watched nocturnal daylilies, H.citrina I think. The night moths went for the yellow coloured nocturnal ones and ignored others. Likewise day pollinators ignored the nocturnal daylillies that were still open.

Think it came up when I did searches on H.citrina.
