Thanks for the toad lily photos. One of my long branches got eaten off and then a bunch of the buds on another got eaten off. I moved it to a less satisfactory location for me, but so far whatever was munching on it hasn't resumed. Still quite a few buds and several blooms open today. I didn't drag the camera out to take a photo. My leaves also get brown tips. I've thought it was the heat and getting too dry. It did really well when we had all the rain and humidity early.
