Agoo -

I have some kind of exciting news here. I didn't say anything because at the time, my experiment with gerbera's were under way with no results. I'm going to tell you my results and if you then want the gerberas, I will list them.

About a month ago my friend gave me my choice from her garden. She had a scarlet red gerbera daisy. I picked it, dried it and then seeded it. I chose all the "plump" ones and then sowed 12 seeds in a mini peat greenhouse. I have kept the peat pots moist. I water, then drain the excess water. This is my third week waiting for germination. Sunday saw the first sprout. Today I have a second sprout. It takes gerberas 3 weeks to germinate. For me, that germination is pretty high considering what they say about the germination rates. I didn't expect this. I think this has been worth it. Now if I can just keep them happy indoors this winter.

If anyone else besides Agoo is interested, let me know. I don't have alot of the deep red scarlet, maybe one or 2 trades, but I have enough of the Pink Surprise gerbera seed. I have cleaned both seeds just to better the germination rates when sowing. The Pink Surprise daisy seed is only 5 months old and it is in my fridge for now.

Ya'll let me know and I'll list both of them.
