Background history:

'King Kahuna' is a semi-evergreen diploid introduced in 1994 by Clarence Crochet. Clarence did his hybridizing at Crochet Daylily Garden in Prairieville, Louisiana. He passed away in 2014.

King Kahuna is an early to mid-season extended bloomer with possible re-bloom. It has earned the following AHS awards: Award of Merit: 2001, Honorable Mention: 1998, LAA: 2008, IM: 2000, and PC: 1998. It has a 1.5 rust resistance rating.
