I have Thundery planted against an east wall of the house. It receives only about three hours of good shade after the trees leaf out. It is in a very dry area and each year I think 'gonna lose that one' as it is the furthest away from a water source. But every spring it seems to come to life vigorously and bloom well and late. I can sit on the screened porch and watch the sunrise through its blooms without getting chilled.
